KK Ranch is located in Newport Beach, California on the North end of the Upper Newport Bay Nature Reserve against miles of equestrian and hiking trails that look out over the Upper end of the Newport Back Bay. It is a two and tree quarter acre horse ranch nestled between a handful of other agriculturally zoned properties that overlook the bluff in Newport between the Muth Interpretive center and Fletcher Jones motor Cars. A site that was once inhabited by the Chumash tribe of Indians and then later the Salt Mines and Irvine Company before being returned to the Osprey and, Herons and other Water Fowel that travel this portion of the Pacific rim flight path and the indigenous riparian plant life that supports them. Our Icelandic Horses have the privelidge of living in an environment that looks very much like the one they lived in when they were in Iceland, but in perpetual ideal summer conditions. Iceland supported this breed for over 900 years. We have been able to see first hand how gently and respectfully these sweet small horses fit into this environment and have never disrupted a nest or caused harm to the delicate ecological balance of nature here.
